Doggie DayPlay is a BLAST!
At Ollie's Canine Campus, we like to call it “DayPlay” since it is so much fun!! What happens during DayPlay? You drop your dog off with our skilled attendants and they stay and play! They enjoy healthy romps with other dogs, stimulating toys, wholesome treats (if owner allows), relaxing rest, and reinforcement of good manners. DayPlay is SO much fun for dogs, but we take your dog’s fun seriously! Dogs are arranged by size, play style, and energy levels to ensure your dog gets the most out of DayPlay. Our skilled and attentive staff, who are on-site all the time, supervise and manage the fun. At the end of the day, dogs go home happy, tired, relaxed, and better socialized.
Why DAYCARE on the Campus?
  • Top notch supervision and low attendant-to-dog ratio – we are ALWAYS with your dog for DayPlay.
  • Builds confidence in many dogs that are timid or fearful.
  • Provides physical activity and stimulation which is especially important for young or high energy dogs.
  • Can help curb behavioral problems such as chewing, digging and jumping.
  • An amazing dog focused campus environment.

Day Care Enrollment
Would you like your dog to join the fun? Follow these application steps to get the ball rolling!
  1. Give us a call or stop in to grab an Intake Form - here you will be asked a series of questions including your contact information and questions about your dog's behavior and what you think we should know about your dog. We then will ask for proof of vaccine records within 48 hours of the scheduled temperament test appointment. We require Bordetella, Distemper and Rabies and they MUST stay up to date when coming to our facility for any service.
  2. Once we have received documentation of vaccinations we are all set to do your dog's temperament test. These evaluations last approximately 15-20 minutes and are designed to give us a good, preliminary idea if your dog will enjoy and be socially successful in a DayPlay and social boarding environment. During a temperament test we will pair your dog with one of our DayPlay dogs to see how your dog does. If your dog is showing signs of playfulness and happiness then we can't wait to have them join our crew. If your dog seems overly nervous or aggressive they will be turned away for the time being but always welcome to come back and try again at a later date. The temperament evaluation price is $12.00.
  3. If your dog is considered a good candidate for DayPlay, we will then schedule a slow introduction session to our DayPlay. During this session, your dog participates in our regular DayPlay program with all eyes on your dog’s behavior and well-being. If we feel your dog is overly stressed and scared we will recommend either trying again at a later date or your dog may not be a good fit for DayPlay- and that's okay! All dogs are different and we strive to do what is in the best favor of your dog.

DOGGIE DAYPLAY GUIDELINES

The Ollie's Canine Campus Dayplay Program provides a wonderful opportunity for approved pets to play and socialize with other dogs. The activity offers valuable socialization, regular exercise and fun… which can have a very positive impact on the pet’s behavior, stress level, and overall health. Listed below are the guidelines that all pets (and parents!) need to know. Please remember that these guidelines may be subject to change or amended at any time.

Approval Process: To be considered, all candidates must be spayed or neutered by the age of six months, must not be aggressive,  or have any other excessive behavioral issues. They must be current on vaccinations and using an effective flea & tick preventative. Our staff will contact owners to schedule their pet’s temperament test after receiving the completed application forms and vaccination records. The temperament test assesses the social skills of potential new dogs by gradually introducing them to our approved DayPlay dogs. A pet may be evaluated while it is boarding at Ollie's Canine Campus as long as it has been scheduled prior to the pet’s arrival for boarding.

Probation: Pets approved for Doggie DayPlay are always considered “on probation” since their behavior can change. If their social skills become unsuitable at any time, we may have to suspend their DayPlay privileges. Similarly, pets who have not participated in Doggie DayPlay for 6 months or longer will be re-temperament tested with the dogs and monitored closely for any behavioral changes. If their behavior has changed such that it imposes a safety risk to themselves, other dogs, or staff, they may have privileges suspended. Everything we do is to keep every dog and employee safe. If you have any questions about this feel free to ask the receptionist or Tom and they will be happy to assist you.

Hours of Operation: DayPlay is available Monday-Saturday during business hours. DayPlay is not offered on Sunday's.

Reservations: Reservations are always required for pets to participate in Doggie DayPlay. There are no “walk-ins”. A pet may be included in the Ollie's Canine Campus Doggie DayPlay Program in one of three ways:

  • Standing Reservation: Pets with a standing reservation have reservations for a specific day or days of the week. The pet attends DayPlay on the same day or days of the week on an ongoing basis. A requirement for clients who request a "standing reservation" is to book in advance all dates that the dog will be attending DayPlay.
  • Daily Call-in: Owners with approved pets may call in anytime during normal business hours and inquire about room for DayPlay availability for that day. If a space is available, our front desk will take your reservation with time of arrival and length of stay.
  • Dayplay While Boarding: Pets approved for Doggie DayPlay may make a reservation to participate in Doggie Dayplay when they are staying overnight on our Campus for a discounted daily price.

Regarding Standing Reservations: By scheduling a standing reservation, owners ensure that their pet will be able to attend Doggie DayPlay each week. Here are our policies regarding Standing Reservations:

  • Standing Reservations are available to anyone who wishes to schedule regular days for DayPlay.
  • Standing Reservations are specific to the individual day or days of the week.
  • Standing Reservations and DayPlay packages cannot be shared with other clients.
  • Owners are required to call the front desk in advance to let us know if their pet will miss its scheduled day in DayPlay.

Social Time: Pets enjoy approximately 7-10 hours of social play in Doggie DayPlay each day, depending on when they arrive and depart. Pets are given the opportunity to rest for 1-2 hours at mid-day. The dogs will play in our fenced in outdoor play yards for most of the day if weather permits. If it is storming or too cold the dogs will remain in the inside play yard besides bathroom breaks. The dogs have the opportunity to use the indoor play yard doggie door out to the patio at all times. (The patio is always safely covered by the awning).

Feeding: We will feed owner's dogs at their discretion during the day.  After eating, the dog will be allowed to rest for a minimum of one hour to prevent digestive disorders.  Owners should be aware of the risk of the life-threatening “bloat” (i.e. Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus) increases when a dog participates in vigorous activity within 1 hour after feeding…especially for large or deep-chested breeds. Owners who feed their dogs in the morning before DayPlay should feed by 6:00am. You may provide lunch for your dogs. Lunch feedings are at 12pm unless instructed otherwise.

Flea & Tick Preventative: Since fleas and ticks are easily transmitted from pet to pet, Ollie's Canine Campus requires owners to treat their pets regularly with a veterinarian approved flea and tick preventative. In addition we strongly encourage regular administration of a heartworm preventative as your dogs will be outdoors on the Campus.

K-9 Grass by ForeverLawn: One of the benefits of Doggie DayPlay at Ollie's Canine Campus is playing in our large play yards where we have installed "Forever Lawn certified K-9 grass".  It is an antimicrobial surface where your canine family will play during play dates, and where they go when Mother Nature calls.  Everything washes right through the surface, and your furry family member stays clean, happy, and dirt free!!! Yards are regularly sanitized.
